With respect to old, previously earned computer certifications from the following vendors:

In 2023, Novell was integrated into Open Text Corporation (i.e. OpenText) which specializes in enterprise information management. They provide business network clouds solutions that enable organizations to securely capture, govern, manage, utilize, and share data along with AI-driven platforms and services focused on transforming information into trusted actionable insights.

OpenText takes a role-based certification approach designed to validate expertise in its enterprise information management products and solutions. These certifications target specific job roles, such as business analysts, administrators, and practitioners, across various product suites (e.g., Content Server, Extended ECM, EnCase for cybersecurity, and others).

Microsoft Corporation retired their older certifications and also transitioned to a role-based certification approach designed to validate expertise in its technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, security, AI, and data solutions.

Cisco Systems, Inc. continues to offer a tiered, role-based certification program as they have since 1993.

The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) continues their vendor-neutral, industry-driven approach to certifications, as they also have since 1993; focusing on practical, job-role-based skills in information technology.
